FM Approvals Certification
Lumicent is the only FM Approvals Class II solution of its type – independent validation that its monitoring hardware meets rigorous standards for performance, reliability, durability and industrial loss prevention.

That's not a self-declared claim; it's third-party tested. The certification covers the full system: the cloud platform, the Asset Gateway, and the Motion Alert sensors — approved for condition monitoring of switchgear and other high-voltage equipment (FM 6510) and, as of August 2026, rotating machinery (FM 6530), including vibration monitoring.

Its out-of-band architecture monitors physical assets independently of production-control networks, enabling organizations to expand visibility without disrupting critical control infrastructure.
Verified on an ongoing basis, not just once
FM Approvals doesn't test once and walk away. The facility that manufactures the Asset Gateway and Motion Alert sensors is subject to recurring surveillance audits that confirm current production still matches the approved design — same drawings, same materials, same test procedures. Any change to a component or a supplier has to be approved by FM Approvals before it reaches production.
Certification timeline
- May 2024: Original approval issued under FM 6510:2021, Certificate FM24US0035X.
- August 2026: Certification expanded to FM 6530:2024, adding vibration monitoring for rotating machinery.
What's been tested
Every rating below was independently verified by FM Approvals:
- Operating temperature range: -40°C to +55°C
- Ambient temperature monitoring: -40°C to +40°C, accurate to ±2°C, repeatable to ±1°C
- Vibration monitoring: 0 to 4 G amplitude (±10% accuracy, ±5% repeatability); 3.125–150 Hz frequency (±1% accuracy and repeatability)
- Alarm types: motion, ambient temperature, and vibration, with 10 selectable sensitivity levels
- Data path: Bluetooth 5 from sensor to gateway; Cellular 4G LTE Cat 1 from gateway to cloud
- Power: 100–240 VAC for the Asset Gateway; a 3V lithium coin cell for the Motion Alert sensor
